2009 Summer Swim Season Information

3/31/2009

The Rice Lake Otters summer swimming season will run from Monday, June 1st through Thursday, July 30th.  Swimmers will be able to attend practice sessions Monday through Thursday from 4:00 to 6:00pm--the length of the practice dependent upon the swimmer's age, ability and experience.

It's not too late to sign up!  Swimmers may register for the summer season at the pool during the first week's practice sessions from June 1st through 4th from 4:00 to 6:00pm.  The cost for the 9 week summer session will be $70 per swimmer.  New swimmers should bring their swimsuit and goggles for a short evaluation by the coach.

We look forward to a great summer season, and hope you'll join us!

Please check back occasionally and we will try to keep everybody posted on club activities.

Championship Volunteers - Timers Needed

2/9/2009

Below is the link for a volunteer form if you would like the best seat in the house at the swim meet.  Hosting the Conference Championship takes a lot of effort, and having teams from throughout the conference help with the timing helps the host team.  They even do this at State Championship meets.

If you are interested please fill out the form and return to Coach Bob.

Home Meet - Saturday January 31st

1/28/2009

Our final home meet will be on Saturday, January 31, 2009.  As with all meets, we need to have all parents and family help where and when they can.

Please fill in the sign up sheet in the pool indicating what you would like to help with.  The nice thing about our pool, is that all who help, get to watch at the same time.  And those who sign up to time even get wet - Too much fun.

Swimmers should plan on being to the pool by 7:45 for warm ups at 8:00.  Attached is a link to a sample meet volunteer list.

Black River Falls - Info - 1/24/09

1/19/2009

Here is series of Maps for those who want to only get slightly lost in Black River Falls.  This is for those of you who would rather spin around town with map in hand than to dare to enter into a local business and stoop so low as to ask for directions.  We have heard for some who have actually tried this and except for the "left at the clock" reference actually found their way.

Wonderful Maps

Swimmers should be at the pool by 8:50 for warm ups from 9:10 to 9:30.  The meet will start at 10:00.

Black River Falls is 45 miles south of Eau Claire.  If driving the 102 miles from Rice Lake, 2 hours should be sufficient time to get to the pool in Black River Falls. ( If flying a lear jet, you could make it in 12 minutes.  If riding in the space shuttle you cover the distance in 20.98 seconds)
