Coach Diane Miller

This fall marks my 3rd year coaching with the JHS swim team.  I enjoyed high school swimming in Colorado and then participated in swimming my freshman year at Purdue University, graduating in 1980 with a degree in marketing.  After graduation, I took a job with IBM and worked for them 11 years in Indpls,, Indiana; Lima, Ohio; and Edinburgh, Scotland.  My overseas work in the UK was by far my favorite.  We were there four years while my husband Jim worked on his Doctorate at University of Edinburgh.

Swimming has always been part of my life and I taught swim lessions for much of my teenage and college years.  I taught Water Aerobics and Aqua Jogger for 5 years at the Health Zone through St. Francis Hospital and am a Certified Instructor.

I am married to Jim, Sr. Pastor of First Presbyterian Church.  Our oldest two children, David and Courtaney both swam on the JHS Swim team.  They graduated in 2008 and 2010.  Jonathan, a sophomore at JHS, is on the JHS tennis team.  We have lived in Tulsa since 1992.

In addition to swimming, I love to play tennis and a new hobby for me is cycling.  I have ridden 1,400 miles since last August, 2010!!  You may see me riding my bicycle on the bike path along the river as my transportation to arrive for coaching at the pool. After the State Swim meet in February, I switch over to coaching tennis for the JHS girls and boys tennis teams.

I look forward to a fun and successful year with Barva and John.
